As a teenager, I found comfort in learning about science and technology. Their vast scope, countless applications, and unique way of depicting reality sparked my fascination. However, I became concerned with the diminishing focus on science within my surroundings. As the first in my family to pursue science, I felt compelled to raise awareness globally about STEM skills’s profound impact on our lives. From small everyday uses like stationery to solving deadly diseases like COVID-19 and monumental achievements like moon landings, STEM workshop serves as the foundation for progress. I want to inspire the youth to embrace STEM education and become pioneers in scientific advancement.
It worries me deeply that many young people from low-income backgrounds abandon dreams of a scientific career due to financial constraints or never dream of it at all. That’s why I created STEMspire. Our organization’s mission is to generate awareness about STEM education and STEM subjects—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics—showcasing their real-world importance, career potential, and integration with the arts, regardless of students’ socioeconomic backgrounds. We’ve impacted approximately 2,500 people through workshops emphasizing STEM’s intersection with everyday life and its critical role in global industries. Our sessions inspire students to explore career options related to STEM fields beyond traditional fields, encouraging them to think innovatively and embrace the transformative power of STEM workshop.
