Extracurricular

Beyond academics, I’m passionate about exploring different interests through extracurricular activities. These activities allow me to develop skills that complement my classroom learning. For example, programming as a hobby has helped me hone my problem-solving skills, mathematical computational programs and working on real world solutions! This skill has proven valuable in my internship at the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology.

In addition to that, I’m also involved in debating and public speaking at Model United Nations. This activity has fostered my expression and presentation skills, as I learn the art of diplomacy and persuasion. Participating in debating tournaments and Model United Nation Conferences has allowed me to learn a lot about topics which I have never thought over before. I also learnt adaptability, while supporting an argument that I rudimentary oppose on a personal level.

Extracurricular activities have become a crucial part of my overall development. They provide a space to learn, grow, and connect with others who share similar passions. I’m excited to continue exploring these activities and the valuable skills they offer.

The Arctic Veil, Science Fiction Novel, December 2023
Recognized as the State Best Seller Book for Uttarakhand, and was awarded the Platinum Medallion for Emerging Author of the Nation
As someone deeply passionate about scientific exploration, I authored a science fiction novel titled The Arctic Veil. Beyond its literary achievement, the novel was integrated into the curriculum for tutoring underprivileged children by the ReachOne NGO as part of its English Tutoring Outreach across India in which I had a predominant role. Its accessible language and captivating climax made it an effective and engaging tool for teaching, blending literary enrichment with storytelling to inspire young minds.
Exoplanet Detection Software
AI Scholars’ Summer Program, Inspirit AI
I participated in the AI Scholars’ Summer Program by Inspirit AI. During this program, I worked on a project focused on predicting exoplanets using publicly available NASA datasets. These anomalies were classified as either exoplanet-related or non-exoplanet-related through techniques such as KNN modeling, logistic regression, and data augmentation.
Internship, Data Analysis and Scientific Computing Research
Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology
In my internship, I was granted the freedom to experiment with various libraries and models as I analyzed over 500 complex datasets. Among the tools I found invaluable were Xarray and CartoPy, which played a crucial role in analyzing the VolMIP CMIP-6 experiments. My specific work involved using Xarray to efficiently handle and manipulate multi-dimensional datasets, allowing me to analyze large-scale climate data related to the monsoon systems and volcanic aerosol interactions.
