The Creation of STEM Spire

stemspire

Due to the decreasing significance of science in my environment, and being the first person in my family to take up Science as a subject, I wanted to generate awareness around the globe on the impact that STEM fields has on our lives. From minuscule applications like Stationary, deadly diseases like Corona and landing on the moon, I want lead the youth for the future of scientific endeavors.

I have created this organization with the primary objective to generate awareness regarding all STEM subjects (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) along with their importance in the real world, future scope in careers and its integration with Arts. The organization has held workshops, which elucidates on the correlation between STEM and the real world, and its vital role on impacting various industries around the globe. It highlights future prospects of STEM education and the groundbreaking career opportunities it provides, along with sparking the audience to think outside the scopes of engineering and medicine.

I learnt about various STEM careers and their pathways, including the way how people from the underprivileged sections of society can achieve them. These new job opportunities helped my evolve my understanding of STEAM as potential career options. I also learnt the skill of workshop facilitation, Extempore, and Presentation Management.

I learnt how to answer questions of young adolescents about potential career options, including related to Non-Stem Majors. I learnt how to prepare for such situations, including management of 70+ students in one sitting.
